Before You Begin: Who Can Do This?


For most accounts, only the Account Owner has the ability to delete an applicant by default. If you are an Admin user and need this permission, you can update your access through the Roles & Permissions settings. However, we strongly recommend keeping this permission restricted to as few users as possible -- because, as you will see below, deletion is permanent and irreversible. This is not a "Ctrl+Z" situation.


Deleting an Applicant: A Very Serious Action (We Mean It)

There are two ways to delete an applicant, and both will walk you through the same confirmation process. Choose the method that works best for your workflow:


Method 1: From the Applicant Listing Page

  1. Search for the applicant you wish to delete.
  2. Click the Select Action button next to the applicant's name.
  3. Select Delete Applicant from the dropdown menu.


Method 2: From the Applicant's Profile

  1. Open the applicant's profile.
  2. Click the Delete Applicant icon within the profile.




The Confirmation Process: Read This Carefully

Regardless of which method you used, a confirmation pop-up will appear before anything is deleted. This is your last chance to pump the brakes -- so please take a moment to review what will be permanently and irreversibly deleted if you proceed:


  • Resumes, cover letters, and any other uploaded files
  • Offer letters and onboarding documents
  • Scheduled or active events, including interviews, pending offer letters, document requests, background checks, and any other pending events tied to this profile
  • Any communications you've had with the applicant
  • All metrics and reporting data associated with the applicant


There is no recovery option for deleted applicants. Once the deletion is complete, neither the Support Team nor Engineering will be able to restore the profile or any of its data. Please ensure you have backed up any information you may need before moving forward.


Not 100% sure? Consider archiving the applicant instead. Archiving removes them from your active pipeline without permanently destroying their data -- a much friendlier option if there is any doubt.


The Final Step: Confirm and Delete

If you have reviewed everything above and are certain this is the right call:


Type the applicant's full name in the field labeled "Enter Applicant's Name."

Click the Delete button (it is big, it is red, and it means business).




That's it -- the applicant's profile will be permanently removed from your account.
