Need to remove an applicant from a job posting but want to keep their details in your ATS for reference? No problem! You can do this easily by moving them to a "Deleted Applicants" job posting. Here’s how to set it up and move applicants seamlessly:
Step 1: Create a Hidden Job Posting
- Navigate to the Dashboard section in your ATS.
- Click Create a New Job to start a new job posting.
- Title the job something clear, like "Deleted Applicants" (so you can easily find it later).
- In the job details, save the posting as a Draft to ensure it remains offline and doesn’t count toward your active jobs limit.
- More on creating a hidden job posting.
Step 2: Move the Applicant to the Hidden Job Posting
- Go to the Applicants section for the job where your forbidden applicant applied.
- Locate the applicant you want to remove and click on their name to open their Applicant Profile
- Using the move applicant icon (it looks like a little suitcase).
- In the pop-up window, choose "Deleted Applicants" as the new job, make some notes if they are helpful, and then select Move Applicant. You can even check the box for "Notify managers that this applicant has been moved" if you want to make sure that the Hiring Manager on the job is notified.
Step 3: Verify the Move
- Head over to the Deleted Applicants job posting to double-check that the applicant is now listed there.
That’s it—the applicant is no longer associated with the original job posting!
Why Use This Method?
- Keeps Data Clean: Applicants are stored in one place without being permanently deleted, so you can reference them later if needed.
- Preserve Job Limits: By keeping the "Deleted Applicants" posting as a draft, it won’t count toward your active jobs limit.
